Welcome to Buckminster Primary School
I am delighted to introduce myself to you as the new Headteacher of Buckminster Primary School. I feel extremely privileged and honoured to have been chosen and entrusted with taking on the job of leading such a wonderful, warm, welcoming school.
I am looking forward to bringing my 22 years of experience of working in education to Buckminster and determinedly leading the school forward. From my visits to the school, working with staff and meeting some parents and children, it is clear that there is a real sense of community, and a real ‘family’ feel to Buckminster. As a teacher, leader and parent of two boys, I believe that all children are entitled to the very best education and to have an enriching school experience. I am determined that the school builds and continues to improve its position, as not only the heart of the community, but a school that everyone is proud to attend and where there are no limits to success. I have already started to work with the teachers, support staff and governors to make a start on implementing initiatives and strategies to make this a reality.
When children, parents, staff and governors were asked for their views on Buckminster School, one particular comment was repeated time and time again - "We are all like one big happy family".
This statement sums up the ethos of our school, where we learn together in a happy and caring atmosphere. However, just like a real family, we all support and challenge each other to ensure we achieve our very best.
Our small classes and our personal approach to teaching and learning allow us to support and meet the needs of every child. Our children's progress is closely monitored to make sure that every child is achieving their true potential.
Our exciting broad and balanced curriculum and our excellent provision of extra-curricular activities provide an opportunity for every child to discover and develop their own individual talents and interests.
This website will provide you with important information and direct you to other sites that may be of use. Pictures and information about our children's learning can be found in the Classes, Special Events and Theme Week areas. Our News and Diary sections will also keep you informed about day to day events and special occasions.
We hope that you will find our site useful and informative and that your children will enjoy sharing their learning with you.
Our website only acts as a window into the life of our school and you are very welcome to arrange a visit and see our greatest ambassadors, our children, in action.
