Spring Term 2023

5th January 2023

Dear Parents/carers

I hope you all had a lovely break and I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy new year.

This is just a quick letter to remind you all of this term’s topic. As you all know from my recent email our new topic this term is the Romans which I am sure the children will all enjoy. The topic web can be found on our school website. As usual homework will be set on a Friday and I would like the homework back at school for the following Wednesday in order for it to be marked and the next lot of homework to be given. PE days will continue to be on a Tuesday and Wednesday so children will need to come to school wearing their PE kit on those days. Swimming will start for the Year 4 children next Friday and will be every other Friday until the end of March.

On another note I have noticed that a lot of children are saying they are hungry by breaktime. When they move up to year 3 children no longer get their free fruit snack from school. This alongside the potential growth spurts that the children have at this age may also be contributing to them feeling hungrier than usual. Therefore, I think it would be beneficial to the children to have a healthy snack in school to eat if they do get hungry. Snacks can be fruit or vegetable based.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any problems or queries.

Kind regards
