Welcome from the Chair of Governors

Apart from the Head Teacher and a member of staff the governing body are all volunteers and contribute experience from a wide range of backgrounds. The governing body aim to be a critical friend to the head teacher, working with the staff and others to constantly improve the educational standards in our school.

I have been part of the school community for over 12 years, well before my own children were born and continue to greatly enjoy the experience.

The education system is constantly evolving and we feel that it is important that Buckminster School is well placed to benefit from changes and is at the forefront of any new developments.

The one thing that we all have in common is our determination to do the best we possibly can for the most important people in the school - the children.

We are very proud of our friendly welcoming school at the heart of the local community. Our continued aim is to ensure that the school builds on the on-going improvements and hard work of all the staff and pupils. We are committed to ensure that the children continue to have the opportunity to interact with other schools, children and cultures, through experiences such as trips and sport.

We, on the governing body, welcome comments and input from pupils, parents, carers and staff because we know it plays a vital part in the school's continued success.

Anyone that is interested in knowing more about the work of the governing body can contact us through the school.
